India Hart Wood, the president of Hart, has always had a creativity infection, but writing surveys and reports about creative people all the time has made the infection incurable. Here are some recent artworks.

The unicorn Sadalbari, queen Galadriel's steed

The unicorn Sadalbari, queen Galadriel's steed. I built a chicken wire form then layered papier-mache assisted with Crayola Model Magic for the eye and mouth details, then cut hundreds of fish scales from fine Japanese paper and glued those on. The horn is the top of our 2008 Christmas tree covered with Japanese paper. The teeth are bone beads.

Mt. Blanca

Great Sand Dunes with Mt. Blanca and small blue figures. I take about 4,000 photos a year and this is one of my favorites.

Picketwire vessel

This earthenware vessel has a map of the southeast Colorado Arkansas River basin inscribed into it, including the Picketwire River. This is a beautiful part of the world, with abundant wildlife and cowboys. A bobcat, pronghorn antelope, and cowboy grace the top. The Picketwire canyonlands are threatened by US Army base expansion plans.

Skylight curtain with Green River canoe trip map

This is a skylight curtain with a map of one of our family trips sewn with a green ribbon for the river and buttons for campsites. In 2007 my family paddled canoes through Labyrinth Canyon on the Green River, a 47-mile three day journey.
